First Attempt
In 2012 he gave his first attempt in CSE. At his first attempt, he was not able to clear the prelims. He only got 6 marks in GS1. For his first attempt, he started his preparation in 2011 when he was doing an internship in Pune. He started his preparation with the NCERTs book of history, geography, polity etc. He started reading Indian Express newspaper in August 2011. He did not join any test series. He had no idea about the syllabus or the pattern of the exam. He just started his preparation without being aware of the exam details. Hence in his first attempt, he scored only 6 marks in GS paper 1. The main reason behind this failure was the lack of the guidance.

Second Attempt
After his first attempt, he has 12 months to prepare for the next prelims. So he took it easy & again started preparing for CSE without changing his strategy or without making any improvement in his strategy. As he was a Hindi medium student so it was difficult for him to read English newspaper daily & making motes from them. This time he practices CSAT paper II but still, he was not able to see any improvement in his performance. He used to read Bipin Chandra, Laxmikanth and much more but his approach for current affairs was very bad. He only read the newspaper without making any notes. In his second attempt, he was still not able to clear the prelims. He failed prelims by 7 marks because of his bad strategy.

Third Attempt
He moved to Delhi for his further attempts. And this time he made changes in his strategy. He decided to read limited resources rather than reading irrelevant things. He focused on the current affairs. This time he also focused on Art & Culture instead of CSAT paper II. He started making his own notes. After making a lot of changes he gave the exam. This time he has cleared the prelims, it was a delight for him after two attempts. But unfortunately, he was not able to clear the mains exam. But he has shown the growth in his performance so he decided to give more attempts.

Fourth Attempt
In his fourth attempt he had cleared the prelims and after that, he was able to clear the mains as well. This time he focused on other things like geometry, dynamics, and calculus for his optional subject. He gave two mock interviews during his preparation. But he couldn’t express himself in the UPSC CSE interview. The reason behind this is the less fluency in English language & low confidence. It was difficult for him to phrase answers in English. And the final result was that he had not cleared the interview. After doing a lot of hard work he is still not able to clear the CSE.
He focused on prelims again this time. He started practicing answer writing for the GS paper. He had joined VisionIAS. In the beginning, he was scoring very badly but slowly he was able to see the improvement in his performance. He started practicing for essays also. He made handwritten notes during his preparation. This time he had cleared the CSE with 832nd rank. This was a good achievement for him but still, he was not happy as he wanted to score good so he decided that he will give more attempt.

He attempted many personality tests & his scores were improving. He focused on answer writing, current affairs to score well. In his fifth attempt, he has achieved what he was looking for. He had cleared the CSE with 162nd rank & made his family proud of his achievement.
He has shown that if you’ve decided on something & you have a dedication to achieving something then you can definitely achieve what you want. You need to do a lot of hard work & stay dedicated towards your goal.
