FAMILY LIFE
She belongs to a very well educated family. Her parents always told her to be independent. They always taught her child to stay positive in every situation. She is a person who is always ready to learn. She was always interested in her studies from her younger days.
Her mother Sarita Rana, is an Associate Professor of Commerce at University College in Kurukshetra. Her mother plays an important role in her success. He always motivated her for the preparation. Her father Kuldeep Rana is also a professor of Economics at Kurukshetra University. He always taught her how to be independent.
She is totally a Haryana child as she was born and brought up in Kurukshetra. After clearing the exam in one of her interviews she said: “My parents gave me all support to achieve my target and my success is the result of their efforts”.
When she was interviewed by Hindustan Times she stated: “For the past one year when I was preparing for the exam, my parents provided me all help I required”.
She gave the credit of her success to her family and parents. She always wanted to serve the country as an IAS Officer. She always dreamt of an IAS Officer.

EDUCATION
As she used to live in Kurukshetra so, she completed her schooling from Kurukshetra. She was a brilliant student from her younger age. She always wanted to study and be independent in her future.
She completed her schooling from DAV School, Kurukshetra. She was very intelligent and dedicated to everything she does. She got 97% marks in her 10th standard and become the district topper. In her 12th class also she secured very good marks and made her school proud.
After completing her schooling she wants to be an Engineer. So, she started preparing for IIT. She did a lot of hard work and crack the exam. She completed her Engineering from IIT, Kanpur.
After completing her Engineering she opted for CSE and started her preparation for her success.

STRUGGLE
It is not easy for anyone to clear the Civil Services Examination. It needs a lot of patience and dedication to clear the exam. At every step, you have to learn something new. You should never stop doing hard work.
It was not also easy for her to clear the exam. Her father told her to prepare for UPSC, but she had to do a lot of hard work in order to clear the exam. She started her preparation and made her 1st attempt at the examination. But unfortunately, she was not able to clear the exam. She gave her first attempt in 2015 but she didn’t make it to the Mains. She cleared the Prelims but she was not able to clear the Mains.
After not clearing the exam, she never gets disheartened by her failure. She always learned from her mistakes and failures. And again started preparing for the CSE. She made her second attempt by doing a lot of hard work. This time she was confident that will clear the exam but becoming a national topper is not something she never expected. She not just only clear the exam in her second attempt but got AIR 12 rank and made her parents proud.
So, her struggle is the hard work she did during her preparation.

STRATEGY
You have to make some strategies to achieve your dreams. She made a strategy for her preparation. The strategy she followed is discussed below:
Optional Subject
Always choose an optional subject with which you are comfortable. Never go for an optional subject you don’t know about. Be very smart when choosing your optional subject. It will help you to score well.
She choose Economics as her optional subject. As she was interested in Economics as well as her dad is also a professor of Economics. His father helped her during the preparation of her optional subject.
Choose an optional subject which you enjoy reading and writing.
Time Management
It is the very difficult task to do. Time is money. As you’ll waste your time, you are wasting your future. But if you use it in the right direction, it will help you to achieve your dreams.
Always make a timetable for your preparation. Give some hours to study as well to your health also.
Always manage your time to see the value of each and every moment.
