The Journey of Neha Jain
Dr. Neha Jain secured 14th rank in 2017 civil services examination. Her journey from a dentist to a civil servant is truly inspirational. She was born & brought up in Delhi. Her father P. K. Jain is LLB graduate while her uncle Anjeev Kumar Jain is also an LLB graduate.
Her father always supported her decision in every situation. She has completed her schooling from N. K. Bagrodia Public School in Rohini. After that, she was interested towards the medical field. She did her graduation in dentistry from Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Science at New Delhi.
After completing her graduation she did an internship & currently she was working as a dental consultant in Oberoi Dental Clinic at Janakpuri. She likes her job but somewhere down she seriously wanted to pursue her career & dream to join civil services.
During her period of an internship, she felt that there is a need to improve the society. After seeing the huge lines of patients & the delays in services motivated her to take a step for this. She started her preparation while she was working. She gets less time compared to other students but she utilized her time very well.
She chooses law as an optional subject because her father & uncle came from the law background & they can help her during her preparation. They have deep knowledge of the law, they taught her about the law. And she also joined Nirvana for coaching as well as she utilized all the online sources available for the preparation like IAS baba or Insights etc. She makes notes of important topics from Law Ambition Institute & she also joined Lawxpert MV an online initiative for the law preparation. Her family members gave her an overview of what law is about & then she joined institutes for the deep preparation strategy.
Regarding the optional subject choice, she said: “I just want to say to everyone that taking up an optional should be based on your own liking and interest but along with the availability of guidance too.”
