UPSC conducts CSE (Civil Services Examination) for the recruitment of various civil services. UPSC conducts exam for IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IRS (Indian Revenue Service), IRTS (Indian Railway Traffic Services) etc.
Every year many candidates prepare for CSE but as it is one of the toughest exams so it is not easy to crack the exam. You have to dedicate yourself towards your preparation. It demands a lot of hard work to clear the exam.
IAS Officer is one of the reputed civil services. Anyone can achieve this by doing hard work and will to never give up. Suman made his dream come true and made his parents proud.
Suman Sourav made everyone proud by clearing the UPSC examination by getting rank AIR 9. He is now one of the national toppers in 2016 Civil Services Examination.

EARLY LIFE
He is a child from a well-educated family. His parents always motivated him towards his success. He started preparing for CSE in 2014. During his preparation he was supported by his parents they never put any kind of pressure on him. He was a very independent child from her younger days. He always wanted to become an IAS officer from her younger days.
He also stated that he is from Orissa, a state which has a lot of potentials but lagging behind in social development. So, he always want to do something for his state, for our country. He used to visit rural areas from her childhood which motivated him to take this decision.
His father Shantanu Mohanty is a retired OAS Officer, he always taught his son to do hard work. If you want to achieve your dreams you have to do a lot of hard work. His father motivated him during his journey. His mother Kabita Mohanty is a homemaker. She is the inspiration for him.
In one of his interviews, he said “I have always wished to become an IAS officer. I used to study for six to eight hours a day. My major inspiration is my mother”.
He also gave credit of his success to his family and god. He stated that: “I owe my success to the people of Odisha, Lord Jagannath, and my parents. I always wanted to work for people of my state. Three major strengths of Odisha is community spirit, rich natural resources, and simplicity”.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
He used to live in Orissa. He was born and brought up in Orissa. He is a dedicated Odia guy. He was very focused from his younger age. He was sure about his future. He knows where he wants to see himself in the future. So, he used to study hard form his initial days.
As he lived in Orissa, so he completed his schooling from a school at Orissa. He was a brilliant student at his school. He got 83.66% marks in his 10th class. In his 12th standard, he got 82.55% marks. He was dedicated to his studies.
After his schooling, he wants to pursue his graduation in Engineering. So, he followed his passion. He completed his Engineering in 2008. He did his Mechanical Engineering from KIIT University. His performance was good at his college also and he got 75.55% in his Engineering.
After completing his Engineering he did a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management. He was also worked at Reliance Industries for a span of 4 years. He also worked as a Consultant at State Government of Odisha Urban Governance.

STRUGGLE
The struggle is a hard work you do during your journey. Suman had also done struggle during his preparation. To make your dream reality, you have to do hard work. He started preparing for CSE in 2014. At that time he has no idea about the exam. He was not sure about how to read, what to read and what not to be.
He had no idea of the exam, so he prepared for the exam and gave it. But he was not serious in his first two attempts. He was just giving exams to have an idea of the exam. To get to know that how much he had to do hard work and what kind of strategy he had to make to follow his dreams. He was not able to clear the exam in his first two attempts.
But when he started preparing for his third attempt, he became serious. To achieve his dream he had to resign from his job and started preparing. This made him more serious about the preparation. Luckily he got selected in his third attempt but he got recruitment at IRS, which he doesn’t want. He always wanted to be an IAS Officer. The third attempt was not satisfied for him but he joined the job at IRS.
In his fourth attempt, he worked hard. And his hard work worth it as he was able to clear the exam as well as he became a national topper. He cleared the exam by getting AIR 9 rank and made his parents proud.

STRATEGY
The strategy he followed during his preparation is:
Have Faith
Always have faith in you and in your goals. In order to prepare for your dream, you first have faith in it. If you keep your faith you will be able to achieve your dreams. Just keep up the right attitude. Always stay positive and never run from bad situations.
Division of Syllabus
As the syllabus for the exams is very huge. So, you should not be able to go through the whole syllabus at a time. So, divide your syllabus into topics and then into subtopics. Then start your preparation by topic wise. It will help you to remember the things you’ve read and you will be able to read the whole syllabus in an easier manner.
Hard Work
Hard work is the key to success and Suman made this statement true by achieving his dreams through his hard work. So, never give up and never stop doing hard work. Always stay motivated and prepare for your dreams.
